Entries are open for the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2020.
The scheme, which includes 12 categories (see full list below), will take place at Williams F1 conference centre on April 2.
The official launch event, held today at the Sadler Building on Oxford Science Park, included a discussion panel with advice and experiences about apprenticeships, followed by a Q&A session.
Panellists included: Sarah Jaycock, executive director of High Spec Composites; Nairne Barker, administrative support officer at Oxfordshire County Council and Oxfordshire Apprentice of the Year 2019; Richard Byard, director of business development at OxLEP; Jacqui Canton, deputy principle at Abingdon & Witney College; and Clive Shepherd, apprenticeships manager at Oxford University.
OxLEP chief executive Nigel Tipple said: “Many Oxfordshire businesses are committed to creating apprenticeships, seeing them as a positive way of developing a highly-trained workforce for the future – through the 2020 awards, we hope to engage even more businesses.
“Discovering young talent through apprenticeship schemes can help businesses to ‘stay ahead’ of competitors and – in-turn – support young people to gain great qualifications too.”
