Autonomous vehicle software company Oxbotica has begun a partnership with Wantage-based Navtech Radar to extend the capability of autonomous vehicles to operate in any environment under any conditions. Off-road industrial vehicles often cover remote terrains in poor visibility. The combination of Oxbotica’s software and Navtech’s high-definition radar will enhance their localisation and perception abilities. These capabilities will enable Oxbotica to meet the growing demand for the industrial applications of autonomous vehicles in both on- and off-road situations. Oxbotica’s chief executive Ozgur Tohumcu said: “Autonomy in off-road environments has long been regarded as a challenge to satisfying the appetite for autonomy in industries. This alliance is proof that the right companies are already prepared to meet that need.” His counterpart at Navtech, managing director Philip Avery, added: “Oxbotica is the perfect partner for us – a leader in its field with software that fits seamlessly into our products, and with an engineering culture that mirrors our own.”
